Get to Know The Designer

I want to share with you my journey to becoming a graphic designer. While the path wasn’t always clear, each experience has taught me something invaluable. I hope by sharing this glimpse into my journey, you’ll better understand where I came from and where I am headed, both as an artist and a professional.

Growing Up

From a very young age, I always loved art, even before I even knew it. Yet even though I loved art, I never really believed it was something I could turn into a career. As a child, if there was a blank piece of paper in front of me, I couldn’t help but fill it with drawings, doodles, or even just scribbling my name in countless different styles. At the time, I didn’t know what graphic design was or how it related to the art I was creating, but I now realize that was my first spark of interest in typography and design.

In school, art was always something I gravitated toward. It was a space where I felt comfortable and in control. I found success in art classes, and it was where I could truly express myself without feeling the pressure of perfection. There were no rules to follow, no rigid expectations, just endless possibilities for what I could create. However, even though I loved it, I always thought of art as a hobby rather than a career. I often compared myself to other artists around me and questioned whether I was “good enough” to take that next step.

College

When it came time to head off to college, I knew I wanted to pursue something creative, but I struggled with making a definitive decision. I didn’t know what to focus on or even if I could make a living doing something artistic. I felt a lot of pressure to pick something practical and stable, which made it difficult to settle on a clear path. The idea of a career as a graphic designer had never really crossed my mind until one day it did—almost out of nowhere. Graphic design was something I hadn’t really heard much about before, but as soon as I discovered it, it felt like the missing piece I had been looking for. It was a field where I could combine my love of art and creativity with real-world problem solving.

Today

Fast forward to today, and I’m fortunate to be able to use my skills as a graphic designer in a professional capacity. What I’ve come to love most about being a designer is the ability to solve problems through creativity. Whether it’s designing a logo, crafting a website, or creating a brand identity, I find joy in the process of taking a concept and turning it into something that not only looks good but has a meaningful impact. It’s incredibly rewarding to know that my work can help bring a vision to life and make a real difference in how a company is perceived.

I draw inspiration from many places, including my love of Disney, which has always been a source of creativity and wonder for me. But I also find inspiration in the world around me—the colors of nature, and architecture. The world is full of visual stories waiting to be told, and design gives me the opportunity to share those stories in a way that resonates with others.

One thing I’ve learned through this entire journey is that impactful design has the power to leave a lasting impression. It can shape opinions, inspire action, and create connections. This is something I strive for in every project I work on. I want my designs to be more than just aesthetically pleasing; I want them to make a real impact, to stand out, and to be remembered. Leaving a lasting impression is what drives me as a designer, and I’m excited to continue growing in my craft, exploring new possibilities, and pushing the boundaries of what design can do.
